How to add a person to the Facebook Business Manager Suite

Step 1

Visit https://business.facebook.com, and log into Facebook Business Manager Suite using your personal Facebook login.

You will then see a menu on the left-hand side or left column that looks like the one below.

Note: Choose the correct brand page or Facebook page name before moving to the next step.

Step 2

Click on the “settings” option or settings icon on the menu.

Next, you will see a page that looks like the one below.

Note: Here, you also have options to connect your Instagram account, adjust page settings, update your business settings and Ad account settings.

Step 3

On the top right side of the page, you’ll see a button titled “Add People.”

Click on this button to add a Facebook admin to your account.

The new page role section will then reflect in the field corresponding to roles.

Below is what will pop up when you click on the “Add People” button.

Next, click on the drop-down arrow, and you’ll notice a list of roles.

There are different roles or different types of page roles.

There are five different levels of permissions available for adding someone to your Facebook business account.

These include:

1. Admin

2. Editor

3. Moderator

4. Advertiser

5. Analyst

Only the admin and editor will have the ability to publish posts and stories to your Facebook business page and Instagram account.

The admin will have complete control, just like you to the Facebook Business Manager. We recommend assigning Admin or Advertiser (at the very least).

These roles have access to view insights for both Facebook and IG.

Step 4

Decide on the level of control you would like to give to this new individual.

Choose the access level and enter the person’s name or email.

Note: You don’t need to be friends with this person to add them as an editor or admin on Facebook.

Step 5

Search for the person by name or email.

After finding the person’s name from the list, choose them from the list.

The person will need to be a Facebook user to find them on the list.

Next, click on the blue “Add” button below, and Facebook will send them a notification to join your Facebook business account.

Now you are done adding this person. Once they accept the invite, they can access the resources you have provided.
